Introducing “Design Spotlight,” Ruggable’s new series where we work with professional designers and style enthusiasts to inspire our readers on how to style their homes. This week we caught up with interior design influencer, Ali McClannan, whose Instagram feed is full of #inspo and #designgoals. She picked two rugs from our recently launched Geometric Rugs collection to demonstrate the versatility of our designs and the impact they can have on a room!
Ruggable: What is the decor style of your home?
Ali: Mid-century modern and Scandinavian, I like a lot of wood tones, simplistic lines and nothing too cluttered. What inspires our decor are those wood accent pieces.
How do you like to decorate?
Ali: I start off with the color palette I like; neutral tones. Since I like the rug to be a focal point, I can do that based off of either pattern or color. Both rugs bring the drama in different ways: the Urbano Rosewood Rug has a pop of red, while the Ragazzo Light Grey Rug’s pattern stands out.
What do you like most about your Ruggable rugs?
Ali: The interchangeability of Ruggable inspires me to switch my rooms often. Like using the Urbano in our dining room, I like things to feel seasonal and alternate often so I always have the bright and airy vibe I love so much- Ruggable makes that possible!
Which rug design is your favorite?
Ali: The Ragazzo! It is similar to the Linear Diamond Black and very much in my lane. This design is tried and true, plus it’s neutral! I love this rug so much and I can’t stop staring at it. I like the Urbano Rosewood too, which is my sister’s favorite. I think she’s trying to steal it from me! (Laughs)
Thank you, Ali for the inspiration! We love your aesthetic and can’t wait to see what you do next.

Ali, I have seen a ruggable ad where you have a scandi looking wall unit, with pale wood, and 5drawers across the bottom. It could hold a large tv. This is exactly what I’m looking for. Can you tell me the brand of the wall unit, please…
Unfortunately, we don’t have information on the other décor or furniture shown! Many of our photos and videos are shared with us from our customers.
What is Ali McClannen’s Instagram please? These rugs are gorgeous!
