So you finally got yourself a new Ruggable rug—congratulations! Now it’s easier than ever to enjoy a fresh, clean rug anytime.
If this is the first time you’re setting up a Ruggable rug and you’re a little unsure how to start, don’t worry. Here we’ll show you the quickest and the most fuss-free way to assemble your rug.
What’s in the Box
If you ordered a Ruggable System (Cover and Pad), your Ruggable shipment will arrive in one long box, with the nonslip Rug Pad and lightweight Rug Cover rolled together on a cardboard roll.
Now a little bit about our rugs (and why they’re magic): Our Rug Cover is made of soft woven chenille and polyester, with a waterproof barrier that keeps liquid from seeping through your floor. Its bottom part features a soft grey fabric designed to cling to the Rug Pad.
The Rug Pad, on the other hand, has a clingy hook texture on top and a grippy rubber bottom that sticks firmly to the floor.
Before Assembling Your Rug
Before setting up your rug, make sure the area where you will be placing it is squeaky clean, and as free of any dirt, pet hair, and other debris as possible. Cleaning the surface underneath your rug will maximize the performance of our nonslip Rug Pad.
Setting Up Your Ruggable Rug
With your area all nice and clean, you’re now ready to un-roll.
Step 1: Prep the Rug Cover
Unroll the Rug Cover and lay it down flat, with the grey fabric side touching the floor. (You may want to set aside the Rug Pad for now.) Then, gently roll up the Rug Cover, design side in. Once you’ve reached the end, fold the rolled up Rug Cover in half, and set it aside as you prep the Rug Pad.
Step 2: Prep the Rug Pad
Unroll the Rug Pad with the rubbery side down, then arrange it according to your desired position in the room.
Step 3: Attach the Rug Cover to the Rug Pad
Take your rolled-up Rug Cover and align one of the corners with the corner edge of the Rug Pad, leaving a one-inch overhang on each side. Once the edge is aligned, unfold the Rug Cover and align the adjacent corner.
Step 4: Unroll the Rug Cover
Once both corners are aligned, slowly roll out the Rug Cover over the rest of the Pad, smoothing it down as you go.
Voila—your Ruggable rug is ready for action!
A Few Reminders
1. Our Rug Cover is designed to be bigger than your Rug Pad. This is to make sure that the Rug Pad stays out of sight once assembled.
2. The corner pockets underneath the Rug Covers have silicone pieces designed to hold the corners down. Do not tuck the Rug Pad in those pockets.
3. If the corners are lifted, simply pull the Rug Cover up, give a little tug, then smooth the Cover back down.
