When warm weather finally arrives, that means it’s time to enjoy more fun in the sun with friends and family. But in the (likely) case that you’re one of the many people intent on upgrading your porch or patio set-up before having guests over, you’ve come to the right place. Ahead, check out some of our favorite ways to take your outdoor space to the next level with decor.

1. Floral Finesse

All it takes to liven up your front porch is a few decor details, evidenced by this lovely setup. The star element is undeniably the layered rugs, which are equal parts playful and inviting. Notice how this homeowner’s choice of florals as decor mirrors the blooms seen in the “Welcome” doormat — and how the plaid rug matches the checkered chair. Chic!
2. Beach Bum

Love coastal-inspired decor? Look no further than this patio for nautical decorating ideas. The choice of a surfboard, conch shell, and “Malibu Life” throw pillows is proof that you don’t have to overcomplicate things to nail a theme. We love how they took it to the next level by choosing colors inspired by the beach, including the neutral outdoor rug reminiscent of sand. Simple, yet brilliant!
3. Pattern and Texture Play

Pattern and texture come together in perfect harmony on this picturesque patio. There’s an emphasis here on geometry, as seen in the circular formation of the bricks, the striped rug and umbrella, and the abstract throw pillow. The major takeaway? Just a few items can still make a big visual impact.
4. Tropical Chic

Who says tropical-chic can’t be synonymous with crazy-cozy? This patio is proof that it can. This designer went all out with a diverse mix of textures in whites and neutrals, proving that you ought to file that light and bright combination under your list of patio decorating ideas. The choice of a palm-pattern rug on an off-white background was a good choice because it subtly balances out the otherwise nearly monochrome palette.
5. Modern Farmhouse

Everything about this farmhouse patio is swoon-worthy, starting with its foundation: the intricately detailed geometric-pattern rug. The woven black chairs match the 8×10 design, while the wooden table complements the back doors and lends to the rustic aesthetic.
6. Feminine Flair

Equally girly and glam, this backyard setup is full of outdoor decorations galore, starting with the modern black and white rug, which gives texture and a touch of elegance. The white lawn chairs, umbrella, and patterned throw pillows stand out against the design, which deliver a youthful aesthetic. Teamed with the pink flowers and accent table, this is hands-down the perfect place to pop a bottle of champagne with the girls.

What is the danger of using the indoor rugs as outdoor rugs? Will they fade? What are the primary differences in the textures of the indoor vs outdoor rugs? Thank you
Those are all wonderful questions, Kit, and we are happy to offer further insight into the difference between the two styles!
Though made with the same polyester material as our Chenille Rug Cover (Indoor), the Outdoor Rug Cover has a thicker weave, yielding a more durable construction that still feels great underneath your feet. The Outdoor Rug Cover is designed to resist fading and maintain its structure when exposed to the sun. Our indoor Rug Covers are not made with these same qualities and are unable to stand up to outdoor elements the same way (i.e., more susceptible to fading)!
In regards to texture, the Rug Covers are fairly similar in structure and design and do not differ largely on the overall feel. While the Outdoor Rug Covers have a thicker weave than our standard Indoor Rug Covers, both designs are low-pile and smooth.
Please note that while we do not suggest using non-Outdoor Rugs outside, our Outdoor Rugs can be used in all spaces – inside and out! We hope this information was helpful and addressed your questions.
