Owning a pet is good for both your physical and mental health. But as every pet owner knows, there’s more to it than endless cuddles and playtime. It’s a big commitment and takes hard work to keep your fur baby happy and well cared for. But despite these challenges, any pet parent will tell you it’s 100% worth it.
Here, we asked pet parents to share things only they understand and these were the top answers.
1. It’s impossible to keep your house clean
Owning a pet means getting used to messes. No matter how many times you give your pet a bath or vacuum your home, hair and dirt are inevitable. It’s just one more reason why you need a washable Ruggable rug.
2. Accidents will always happen
Sure, your pet is potty trained, but accidents will happen, and probably on your brand new rug, clean carpet, or furniture. But we love them anyway!
3. You’ll never be alone
Getting a pet means saying goodbye to any and all alone time. Whether you’re sitting on the toilet or taking a shower, your pet will want to be with you at all times and doesn’t care about privacy.
4. Say goodbye to sleep
You can kiss those precious nights of blissful sleep goodbye. From the early days when your young pet requires 24-hour attention to when they’re older and refuse to leave you any space in bed, your sleep will be impacted. But nothing beats cuddling under the covers with your fur baby.
5. You spend way too much money on them
The fact is pets are expensive. From essentials, like vet bills and high-quality food, to the organic treats, special toys, and designer beds you know they can’t live without, everything you purchase for your pet will cost a lot. But you’ll quickly realize they’re worth every penny and you just want them to have the best.
6. Your pet will dominate your camera roll
Any pet parent can attest to this: everything your pet does is the absolute cutest and needs to be documented. If you’ve checked your camera roll lately, you know nearly all of your pictures are of your pet sleeping, eating, playing, being the best pet in the whole world.
7. You have a special way of communicating with them
From weird nicknames you give your fur baby to the subtle cues you learn to read, you and your pet will quickly develop your own way of communicating that no one else can ever understand. And that’s just the way it should be, thank you very much.
8. They have you trained
You might think you’re the owner who gives the commands, but every pet parent knows the real truth: that you’re completely at your pet’s mercy and you can’t possibly say no to that cute face.

Well, we got our 4th Ruggable rug delivered today. One more is on its way, too.
I cannot tell you how much we love your rugs. We have a larger one in the living room and one on each side of our bed. The newest rug is resting in our hall bathroom. The next one, when is delivered with its extra thick pad will reside in the kitchen. Plans are for a laundry room rug and one for the family room in the future and possibly a spare top only for the living room. Needless to say, our family of two wonderful very furry Aussies, my husband and I are pleased to have such beautiful and practical rugs adding just the right touch to decor without breaking the bank. Caring for them is easy. Our pups have put them to the test with upset stomachs and muddy/sandy paws. My husband and I both have tracked in sand and dirt, too. We had two designer rugs in the past. I would never consider such a waste of money again. They were impossible to keep clean. We have all hard surfaces in our home…mostly tile. Ruggable rugs are simply amazing. Thank you so much for inventing them and having such beautiful designs and colors.
Hi, Trudy! We are so happy to hear that you are enjoying your Ruggable Rugs and we appreciate your feedback. Thank you for you for your continued support!🥰💕
I have an Aussie too, but with so much hair my pretty rug won’t stick to the pad and it curls so badly on the edges it’s a trip hazard. How do you handle that?
Hi there! We are so sorry to hear that. We ask that you reach out to our Customer Care team at support@ruggable.com so that our team can look further into the matter and see how they can best assist!
In regards to your Rug Pad and the pet hair, you are able to vacuum your Rug Pad to help with this! For best results, use a low-suction vacuum or option. If your vacuum doesn’t have a low-suction option, we suggest using the attachments! For more info, including a list of compatible vacuum models, please visit the following link: https://myruggable.com/vacuums
If there is a larger build up and vacuuming is hard to do, you can also try spot cleaning with soap and water using a washcloth/towel to help loosen and remove the debris. After it has dried you can then try vacuuming the remainder of pet hair! We hope these tips helps and please do note hesitate to reach out to our Customer Care team for further assistance.
Love these rugs. We have 20 of them even tho our house is really small. Having had 9 older cats (1 who decided to opt out of litter pail use for his last 6-8 months of life); your rugs have been an absolute necessity for us. They come out of the wash looking new, can easily be spot cleaned & as an added plus (maybe because of the weight of the pads or short knapp?)- for whatever reason our kitties are not inclined to dig their claws into them pulling @ the thread & ruining their appearance! Yay! They do like sprawling & playing on them tho(also w/out catching their nails in them.. Couldn’t be more pleased. C. Hauffe
