Styling a black and white rug isn’t for the faint of heart—let alone, a zebra-print rug! But for the bold and daring like Tiffany B, interior stylist and the content creator behind @MyEclecticNest, it sure is a rewarding experience. Here she walked us through her home as she talked about her design inspirations, styling tips, and her top rug picks.
R: First of all, where do you get your interior design ideas?
Tiffany: I get a lot of inspiration these days from Pinterest and Instagram. But I think it started at home with my mom when I was younger. She really loves home decor and she’s helped me design some of the rooms over the phone, giving me tips and tricks.
Your family room is definitely fun and funky. What inspired the colors and decor of this room?
This is, without a doubt, the hub of our home. For some people, their hub is their kitchen, but here, this is where the magic happens. This is where everyone gathers, talks, laughs, even sleeps. We love the energy here, and I feel that it translates into our friends and family.
Whenever we entertain or have gatherings, this is the room that everyone seems to gravitate towards. It’s bright, airy, cheerful, but at the same time, it’s comfortable and cozy. We have that chaise lounge at the end of the couch where people can just lay down, relax, take a nap, have a good time. This is what I want for my home. I want people to come here and be comfortable.
What made you choose a zebra-print rug for this room?
When I set out to find a floor covering for my space, I knew that I wanted something modern and bold and graphic, but it also has to look classic, because I also don’t want to change out my rug or floor covering on a regular basis. I think I nailed it with this Ruggable Zebra Black Rug. It’s a fun, beautiful zebra print in classic ivory and black colors.
You also redesigned your living room, can you tell us more?
This is actually our living room-dining room combo. It’s a long and narrow, open-concept space. My original plan for these rooms was to go dark and moody. You see there’s a big open window there, which you’d think would give a lot of light but it doesn’t. It’s still kind of dark in here sometimes so I’d thought I’d lean into that and not fight the room’s natural look.
How did you pick a rug for this space?
While I want both rooms to be cohesive in their color and design, I still want to define both spaces of the house, and obviously the best way to do that is with a rug.
The rug that I chose for this space is the Marble Golden Ivory Rug. This rug really takes this room up a few notches. It’s an ivory, mauve, marble pattern—really pretty!—with flecks of gold and greys. It’s nice, soothing, and calming, but still fun.
Any other styling tips?
I truly believe that a home should reflect the people who live there. Whether it’s a house, an apartment, wherever you live, it should have a soul, and it should tell us something about you.

I do like the zebra rug and eclectic decor. However, I do have a need for a square rug in my kitchen. Can you do a custom size order. Wasn’t sure if there was a better place to ask this question.
Hi, Angela! Thanks for your interest! Unfortunately, we currently don’t offer custom sizes, but we’ll pass along your feedback to our team. And don’t forget to subscribe to our newsletter to get updates on all things new at Ruggable!
