If there’s one thing we learned from stylist Erika Lauren of @peonyandhoney, it’s that fall and Halloween decor don’t always have to go the dark, moody, or gaudy route. With the right touch—plus the right Halloween rug—any space can exude an elegant, autumnal vibe.

Ruggable: How are you styling your home differently this fall?
Erika: This year I’m going for a more elegant version of fall and Halloween decor! I want key pieces worth keeping and using for years to come as opposed to the cheap kitschy pumpkin decorations. I also added a fun twist to my fall color scheme with some blues and dusty pinks for a more sophisticated fall look.
How do you make fall and Halloween decor look fresh and sophisticated?
Look for a twist on traditional pumpkins, like maybe glass or velvet pumpkins. Or, go without pumpkins at all and add some dried florals to your home and pieces with rich colors.
You don’t need to add new decor to every room in your home. Look for statement pieces with rich fall colors, and only them in common spaces in your home.

How do you get the robot vacuum cleaners to go over your ruggables? Is there a specific robot vacuum that I need to purchase because mine gets stuck and won’t go over my ruggables?

Hi, Jeri. Although we’ve heard great reviews from customers who have chosen to use a robot vac on our rugs, we do not recommend it since they can sometimes get caught on the edges of our rugs.
