Atlanta-based interior designer Ashely Dixon, who owns Alexander Renee Design, spends her days helping people create the home of their dreams. But it’s her own home that’s a shining example of her talents. The stunning space is opulently decorated in a gold, black, and white color palette that’s chic, glamorous, and the perfect reflection of Dixon’s tastes.
She recently took over our Instagram to share where she gets inspiration, what decorating tips she recommends to others, and of course her Ruggable rug picks. Read what she had to say, below.
Name: Ashley Dixon
Profession: Interior Designer, Alexander Renne Design
Design Style: “I would say my style is a combination of modern and classic with a sprinkle of glam to keep it interesting. My home truly reflects my style, which is also evident in my clothing choices. I wear mostly white, black, and gray, and my home matches my closet.”
Inspiration: “Inspiration doesn’t just have to come from books or Pinterest, though it can. It can come from anywhere around you. My entire home is black, white, and gold, but you’ll also find that in other things that I love. I also really love animal print, so you’ll find pops of that throughout my house.”
Decorating Tip: “Make sure your home is a reflection of you. You don’t want to follow the trends; you don’t want to do what someone else is doing. You want to make sure your spaces are both beautiful and functional, and the best way to do this is figuring out what you like and what you need in your home.”
Favorite Pieces of Decor: “I love candles and fresh flowers. They warm up any space so much!”
Ruggable Rug Picks: Cosmic Marble Grey Rug and Soraya Trellis Ash Grey Rug
“I wanted my eat-in kitchen to be beautiful, of course. However, I have two kids and a pet. So my Ruggable rug in here allows me to not have to worry about spills. I can just pop it in the wash.”
“The newest addition is here in my kitchen. This Ruggable rug is the perfect combination. The pattern brings together the marble in my backsplash and also the quartz in my countertops.”
