Your entryway is one of the first things people see when they come to your home, so it never hurts to decorate your entryway or foyer to make a good first impression. Regardless of your home’s structure, whether you have a house with a foyer or an apartment with a small entryway, paying a little extra attention to the entrance of your home is worth the effort. These eight front entrance ideas are easy to implement and will make the most out of your space.
1. Place greenery by your front door
Keep potted plants by your front door for a joyful welcome. Whether you opt for real plants that’ll thrive being outside or choose to decorate the interior entrance of your home with faux greenery, the natural element will instantly elevate your space.
2. Consider a round rug

Use a round rug in a fun print for an unexpected statement. Most people tend to gravitate towards rectangular rugs for this area, but opting for a round version is an easy way to make the space stand out from the rest of your home. Choosing a round rug in a colorful pattern will draw even more attention.
3. Make your door pop

Paint your door a vibrant shade for a fun pop of color. If the rest of your house is neutral, painting your front door is a great way to make your foyer stand out.
4. Layer your outdoor rugs
Outdoor rugs are both functional and stylish. Try the layered look for an even more stylized effect by placing a doormat on top of an outdoor rug to up the wow factor.
5. Color-coordinate your rug and door

Choose a rug in the same shade as your door for a color-coordinated look. Whether this means opting for something neutral or taking a risk, like the pink door and pink rug seen here, the matching elements look especially chic.
6. Get organized with bins and shelves

Keep it tidy by adding decorative catch-all bins, baskets, or shelving units in your foyer. This not only works to keep a small entryway from feeling overwhelmed with clutter but also acts as a decorative element in the space.
7. Add a rustic bench or chair

Add comfort and character to your entryway with a rustic bench or accent chair. Having seating in this space will give guests somewhere to sit while they remove jackets and shoes while also adding style.
8. Incorporate some decorative elements by the doorway

Glam it up with brass or gold accessories. Hanging a large mirror, adding wall sconces, or placing candlestick holders and other decorative items in metallic finishes will instantly upgrade the entry.

Do you have a suggestion for the south’s classic black and white marble tile.? I have 12 inch squares of alternating black and white tiles and wonder what rug to put on it. Many houses in the south east have this, so I think it would make a relevant design idea for others as well.
Thank you.
Do you have any ideas for a very high ceiling entryway/foyer approximately 16 ft high? What would compliment this area? Fixtures like a mirror or artwork or a table?
