As the weather warms and the season changes, we find ourselves inspired to freshen up our home decor for spring. From decluttering and organizing to incorporating new colors and patterns, spring is the perfect time to give your space some love. Whether you want to tackle a DIY spring decor project or prefer to stick with a smaller refresh, we have ten spring decorating ideas you won’t want to pass up.
1. Start with a spring-themed rug

Nothing says spring quite like a colorful spring rug. Whether you opt for a tropical, fruit, or floral print, a spring rug will instantly cheer you up and brighten up your space. For a farmhouse spring decor look, try one with a subtle, intricate pattern. If you prefer modern style, a bold watercolor floral rug will do the trick.
2. Declutter your space

Make Marie Kondo proud. Spring is a great time to cut the clutter and do a deep spring cleaning. Sell or donate what you don’t use, organize what you plan on keeping, and minimize the visual clutter in your living spaces. Take a minimalist approach to your decor by making sure every item on display is intentional.
3. Try open shelving

Consider replacing some of your kitchen cabinets with open shelving. The clean lines will open up the room and allow you to display favorite items previously hidden away. If you don’t want to make changes to your kitchen, you can easily incorporate floating shelves in your bedroom or living room for a similar look that requires less DIY work.
4. Decorate with plants

Spring is the perfect time to embrace your green thumb and bring the outside in with lots of greenery. Place a tall plant next to a larger piece of furniture, like a sofa, or near a doorway, then add smaller ones on shelves, counters, and tables. When it comes to plants, more is more. To make the room really pop, pair all those green plants with a bright colored rug, like the pink vintage style one seen here.
5. Don’t be afraid of color

If there was ever a time to experiment with color, your spring decor is it. Don’t be afraid of bold, bright shades, like this yellow and orange bedroom. Not only are the colors perfect for warming up a room, they’ll also cheer you up. If you’re not ready to fully commit to a colorful room, start small with a yellow rug or orange rug and go from there.
6. Incorporate rattan decor
Rattan furniture and accessories are perfect for spring decorating, thanks to the material’s tropical vibe. Add a rattan coffee table, side table, or accent chair to your living room or bedroom for a fresh look.
7. Dress up your doorway
Now that you’ll be spending more time outdoors, your entryway deserves some attention. Whether that means decorating your foyer or dressing up your front door step, adding some spring decor to these spaces will boost your mood every time you come and go. For added style, try layering a doormat over an outdoor rug in front of your door or hanging flower wreaths on the door.
8. Refresh your bedding

Prepare your bedroom for spring by refreshing your bedding. Whether you opt for all white linens or choose to add a pop of color with a colorful quilt, like the coral one seen here, new linens will make your bedroom feel brand new.
9. Freshen up your paint

Paint gets dinged up and dirty from wear and tear, so consider giving your painted walls and cabinets a refresh. Even if it just means opting for a new shade of white to brighten up the space, the crisp end result will make a difference.
10. Add farmhouse decor

Farmhouse decor is popular year-round, but incorporating some farmhouse spring decor elements can really transform your home. Adding natural wood elements to your space or even transforming a wall or two with shiplap is a good place to start. This trend isn’t going away, so you can keep the farmhouse decor year-round if it suits you.

How would I clean a 8 X12 ft. braided rug?
Hi, Marilyn! We unfortunately do not have information on how to properly clean other rugs than those purchased through Ruggable.com. However, if you are needing information on how to best clean your Ruggable Rug, then please feel free to use the following link for instructions and tips!

The area between my cooktop and kitchen island is 4’5” wide. The 2.5’ runner is too narrow and keeps on sliding either side inspite of the pad, and the 5×7’ rug is too wide. What do you suggest.
